Be the change you seek in the world
Community Service is a central hallmark of our curriculum. We believe financial security is crucial so that we have the freedom to create value and service in the world. As alumna Kamryn, age 12 shared, “World of Money has taught me that community service is important to become a good citizen in the world. It is a way to give back to the world and the economy. Although you may not get paid for your volunteer work, you help out your community and may make a difference in someone’s life. By the way, you might also have a lot of fun volunteering, like I did when I helped paint a mural at a neighborhood school our community day of service in that summer of 2012.”
Our students and parents have served:
- ShoesFor Liberia: 500 pairs of brand new shoes were donated and delivered to children in Liberia.
- Painted a mural at Brooklyn elementary school
- Delivered meals to shut-in seniors with City Meals on Wheels
- Painted park benches in Flushing Meadow Park in Queens
- Beautified Von King Park in Brooklyn
- Beautified Nazarene Congregational Church in Brooklyn
- Greater Newark Conservancy in Newark, New Jersey
